What messages we send

This program sends account and transaction messages only. Specifically:

• Sign-in codes — a one-time code to verify your phone number when you create your account or sign in on a new device.
• Load confirmations — a message when money you loaded from your bank clears and becomes spendable.
• Payment receipts — a receipt after you pay at a Pico network store.
• Low-balance reminders — a notice when your balance at a store runs low, so you are not caught short at the counter.
• Account and security notices — for example, if a transfer is returned by your bank, or if we need to tell you about a change to your account.

These are account notifications. They tell you about your own account and never advertise anything.

How you opt in

You opt in by entering your mobile number on the Pico signup screen. That covers the account messages listed above. They are part of running a Pico account, and the disclosure appears on the screen where you enter your number.

Separately, Pico can let you know when a new store near you joins the network. That is promotional, so it has its own checkbox, unchecked by default, which you can leave alone:

Checking that box is not a condition of opening an account or of any purchase, and the signup screen works whether or not you check it. A one-time code is still required to verify your phone number and secure your account.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on how you use your account. A typical customer receives a sign-in code only when setting up a new device, plus a confirmation when a load clears and a receipt for each purchase where receipts are enabled.

Cost

Pico does not charge you for these messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan. Contact your wireless provider for details of your plan.

How to stop messages

Reply STOP to any Pico message to be unsubscribed. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent to that number.

If you opt out of all messages, we may be unable to send you a sign-in code, which may prevent you from accessing your account on a new device. To re-subscribe, reply START or re-enable messages in your account settings.

Carriers

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission from your wireless provider and is not guaranteed.

Supported carriers

This program is supported by major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, and their affiliated and regional carriers. Carrier support may change.

Privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Your number is used to operate your Pico account and send the messages described above. Mobile information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details of how we handle your information.

We may update these Messaging Terms. The “last updated” date reflects the current version.
